A Town Board meeting agenda was posted on June 11 and then revised on June 12 to remove an item to consider authorizing the Supervisor to sign the Collective Bargaining Agreement with Guilderland Police Benevolent Association for the period of January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021.
One can only assume this item was removed because Governor Cuomo signed Executive Order 203 “New York State Police Reform and Reinvention Collaborative” on Friday, June 12 which requires each local government entity to perform a a comprehensive review of current police policies with their communities by April 1st of 2021 and other reforms passed by the State Legislature and signed into law last week may effect this agreement as well.
Other items on the agenda appear to be basically pro-forma bookkeeping items, but the Supervisor’s updates at the end of the meeting will definitely be of interest:
-
Town’s Moving Forward Plan
-
Grievance Day Procedure
-
2020 Summer Recreation Program and Tawasentha Park pool
Members of the public may listen and view the meeting live on Verizon channel 34 and Spectrum channel 1303, on the Town website at https://www.townofguilderland.org/town-meeting-videos, and may dial(518) 579-3721 to participate in a conference call.
