This Town Board meeting will start with a Public Hearing on Proposed local law to amend §280-40(U)’s Supplemental Regulations for Solar Energy Systems.

In addition to the public hearing, the following other agenda items we consider to be of importance.

• Consideration of separating the EMS Division from the Police Department and creating the Department of Emergency Medical Services, and appointing Jay Tyler as EMS Director as recommended by the Medical Director and Chief of Police.
• Consider adopting the proposed Financial Hardship Program Policy for ambulance and other fees as recommended by the EMS Director.
• Consider naming the private road at Vosburgh Road and Western Avenue as West Creek Lane as requested by the Assessor.

The Town Supervisor is also planning to provide updates on:

• Thruway’s removal and renovation of the Old State Road bridge.  Old State Road will be closed starting Monday, March 23, 2020 and will remain closed in both directions for the duration of the project. (Thruway Authority estimates 7 months) Notifications will be sent out via Nixle, email blast and posted on our website.
• 2020 Census
  • April 1​st​ – Census day
  • March 12​th​ to March 20​th​ – census questionnaires arrive at residences
  • Census Seminar (Friday, March 20​th​ at 5:30pm at Guilderland Library)
• Hazardous Waste Day (Saturday, April 11​th​ from 8am to 2pm at Highway garage)
• UAlbany Planning Department’s graduate school studio
  • Public discussion regarding scope on Monday, March 2​nd ​at Town Hall from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
