This meeting will be to plan for next steps based on the decision of the Guilderland Planning Board that on Wednesday night, Feb 12, 2020, deemed the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the development on Rapp Road, the Mall Ring Road and Western Avenue as "complete."
This means the official public comment period has technically begun, however the Planning Board announced that they will not start the 30-day clock until the actual updated DEIS is posted to the Town of Guilderland Website. On Jan 30, 2020 the DEIS submitted by Pyramid on Dec 24th, 2019 was posted, but apparently they have been making changes since then in response to requests from the Town.
Also, the Guilderland Planning Board has scheduled a public hearing for March 11, 2020 which will start at 6:00pm.
Feel free to start sending your public comments in now, even if that is to request an extension for the public comment period.
Also, we received a letter from the Rapp Road Historical Association (RRHA) requesting to be removed from the GoFundMe Fundraising campaign and YouTube video because they are "concerned about their not-for-profit status and having their name associated with any other income generating campaign and/or website." This has now been done.
The good news is that Save The Pine Bush has officially retained the Pace University Legal Clinic to represent them regarding the environmental concerns with this development.
